CHERCHEZ LA FEMME (watercolor)

This art project is a multi-layered exploration of female nature through abstract art and textile forms. The project combines a collection of watercolours and textile sculptures, revealing the feminine as something both fragile and powerful, elusive but tangible.

A series of minimalist works are presented in the form of pink spots resembling fragments of a woman's body, abstractly ‘splashed’ on a white background. Each image is a part of a larger whole, as if a fragment of a lost mosaic. The viewer sees a hint of unity that goes beyond the visible, as if he or she is facing a jigsaw puzzle that cannot be assembled, but can feel its completeness within him or herself. These images evoke associations with softness, tenderness and the mystery of the feminine essence, but they are not without energy, indicating a hidden power.
